About us
What We Are All About!
Khmer Buddhist and Cultural Centre were established in 1987 in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.
We would like to expand our community to become bigger and stronger.
We want the next generation to be educated about our culture and let them know how it works and what it’s all about.
Our culture has two major events a year where we celebrate New Year and Pchum Benn. New Year’s Day is a time for our people to meet with each other to celebrate the past, present, and future. Pchum Benn is a Khmer festival during which food is offered to Buddhist monks in hopes that such a deed will benefit the spirits of our relatives that have passed on.
Money Flower is another time of year where we come to celebrate with friends and family to raise money for the temple and monks. The money raised will be used by the monks as needed and for the Bonkatenn Festival.
The Khmer Buddhist and Cultural Centre would like to keep our traditions and festivals of our culture alive. We invite all to come join us in our festivities and learn about our culture.
Thank you, Monn
